Over the weekend we had wonderful weather. Sorry to my friends out east who were socked with more snow. But yesterday it snowed here all day too so we still contend with that white stuff from time to time and there is still snowmobiling to be had up in the mountains.
Over the weekend we decided to go over the mountains and we did see a few die-hard snowmobilers.
Above is the drive through Ten Sleep Canyon.
Once you get to the other side of the mountains the color changes dramatically.
You see corals, reds, and all shades of green, not to mention blue skies and those majestic mountains looming in the distance. I believe those are the Rockies.
We traveled through the town of Ten Sleep then on to the quiet farming town of Hyattville with a population of 75.
And the degrees reached 75!
We traveled up a trail and just kept going higher and higher.
It just got prettier and prettier and the rock formations were so interesting.
There's a contained fire in the distance. Farmers burn part of their land to allow better and more nutritious foliage to grow.
We stopped to stretch our legs and enjoy our surroundings, and give the dogs a drink of water in their bowl.
We discovered this amazing canyon!
Of course, pictures just don't do the scenery justice.
More interesting rock formations.
This is us going back through the Ten Sleep Canyon towards home. Steve and I would like to take our four-wheelers on that two-track down there!
Close-up of the two-track. There is also a creek running through the canyon.
Such beautiful country!!
