We waited impatiently for the ice to leave Lake DeSmet.
Our first day fishing Lake DeSmet there was still some ice, but no trees or brush in sight mind you, and I still managed to get my hook caught in a chunk of ice.
Geesh.
If I don't catch a fish, I usually have no trouble catching my thumb.
No ice!
We've caught rainbows and cutthroat.
We've had awesome fish frys! We deep fry, grill, bake, smoke, make fish dip...
(Just because Steve is always holding the fish doesn't mean he catches them all. He's more photogenic than me.)
We've fished cloudy days...
Days that threatened rain...
Beautiful sunny days...
Days that were cold and windy so we hunkered down in this beautiful bay and used the back of the car for shelter.
When the fishing was slow, we took selfies...
...and the dogs did too.
Today is a gorgeous Sunday. Steve just left with a bunch of guys on ATV's. I counted 8. They are headed up the canyon for the afternoon. We took a ride up the canyon last night with the car to see how far we could get. We got oh so close to the top, but the snow became too deep and we didn't want to chance it. That would be a long walk back for help.
It was a cloudy evening so the following pics of the canyon are a little dark, but we'll try it again later in the week on a sunny day and I'll take more pictures.
But the highlight of this week was this...
Our son proposed to his girlfriend in downtown Chicago!
We are so thrilled!
Congratulations Riley and Lindsey!
And Happy Birthday to my brother-in law Bruce!
Have a Happy Happy week Everyone!
