Today I want to introduce you to my favorite place - the river. As you can see from the picture to the right (there's no picture if you are reading this in Google Reader....sorry, still learning), I settle here often with my pen and paper, or a good book, or a bunch of good books on my good buddy Kindle. There is no electricity, so no laptops allowed, unless of course you have a good battery. But there is something to be said about a favorite pen making contact with a weathered notepad. The cabin is called the Grizzly Den. This is where all trips begin, whether on foot or musing wings...
But every now and then one must get up and go exploring...
I'll bet there's a Rainbow Trout hiding under that log. But Bear, the dog in the water, is more interested in finding a swimming squirrel. I haven't the heart to tell her chances are 1 in a million. And Ike, the dog watching from the sidelines, well, he can't swim. Really. Saw it with my own eyes. Thought I was going to have to wade in after him when all I saw was his paws sticking out of the water as he struggled to find land he could cling to so he could drag himself out. Needless to say, he's a wader.
Well, I'm off with my walking stick to trek the 1.5 miles back to my favorite place with my posse in tow...I hope to see you back here soon!
