A Day at the GarLyn Zoo

Well, yesterday was Mother's Day. I hope each and every woman out there had a nice day whether you're a mom or not. Whether your mom is still on earth or not. Because, every woman makes an impression, one way or another, in a person's life. You are all awesome.

So what did I do?

Steve and I went to church. At the end of the service, when we were all dismissed, we women were all handed a long stemmed red rose. It choked me up. I was really touched by the gesture. Plus I love flowers.

Then we returned home to let the dogs out (they're both 14 this year) and Steve grilled steaks.

And then... WE WENT TO THE ZOO!

It was free admission day for women on Mother's Day. I think that is so cool. We went to the GarLyn Zoo in Naubinway, Michigan.

Steve said he thought this was a male tiger because it is so big. I said no. It is a mother enjoying her day in the sunshine. Peace on...

A face only a mother could love...

Stayed my distance. I hear camels spit.

Roosters, Chickens, Turkeys, and Peacocks all have free range in the park. It is really cool. I laughed a lot.

I didn't tell this guy we had some Bison Loin Steaks last week for dinner.

They were really good.

I told Steve the fence wasn't high enough. These Reindeer could fly out anytime they wanted too. Steve reminded me this is their off-season.

Water fowl enjoying the creek.

Just a quick bath before getting back to her responsibilities.
