Mackinaw City in the Early Spring

On one of those unusual warm days we had here in the Great Lakes a few weeks ago, Steve and I decided to do a beach day. We crossed the bridge into Troll Land and spent the day in Mackinaw City. Here we are looking north to the UP.

Of course, it wasn't a lounging beach day like this from last summer on Lake Superior.
(Time to flip, Steve!)

It was a walking beach day wearing winter coats and gloves.
There were still chunks of ice! Brrr...

A seagull waiting for a picnic...

These geese must have had a nest somewhere
because they let us know in so many honks that we weren't welcome.

A quiet marina...

Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse

Just a little get-away...WOW!

Comparing apples to apples...

We circled around back to the fort and the bridge.

Watching a freighter cross the Straits.
In the distance you can make out Mackinac Island and the Grand Hotel.

Another view of the island as we crossed the bridge north to the UP - Home!
Another grand day!
